Next Steps

We aim to prepare all of our students for whatever their next steps might be.

Currently, around three-quarters of our students move on to higher education. Our tutors spend a great deal of time with students, both in groups and individually, in order to help them with choosing the right course, the right university and completing their UCAS applications.

Approximately one-fifth of our students go in to employment. Our tutorial programme helps these students with finding the right job and completing job applications. Our tutors will use individual tutorials to help with finding a job and will write references for students. We also benefit from having a ‘coach’ on site who will work with groups of students developing their interview skills.

During our activities weeks students will spend two days working on their next steps with a variety of outside speakers visiting the college to offer advice and guidance covering applying to university, finding a job and following specific career paths.
