Six students and one member of staff are running the Norwich City Half Marathon on 9th April and are looking for you to sponsor them! They are running to raise money for EACH (East Anglian Children’s Hospices) – in particular, their Nook Appeal.
From EACH’s website: “The nook appeal is our vision to transform children’s palliative care in Norfolk and deliver even better children’s hospice care services. This includes a new purpose-built hospice in the heart of the county, called the nook. The new site will replace our current hospice in Quidenham, a building not designed or equipped in the way our other two hospices are. … With high demand in Norfolk we are caring for 131 children and young people and 2015 family members. The nook will allow us to do this while offering greater choice in a much improved, significantly larger, and more appropriate environment. … We have planning permission for a new hospice in a fantastic five-acre woodland setting; five miles south of Norwich in Framingham Earl. … Once built it will transform our care to meet the changing needs of children and help us meet the increasing demand for our services.” You can find more information about the appeal at https://www.each.org.uk/the-nook/about-the-nook
However, they need all of our support to help raise the £10 million required to achieve their aim. Dereham Sixth Form College raised awareness within our own community by inviting in a representative from EACH to explain the work that they do and how the new hospice will improve the services they can offer.
