On 21st September, Mrs Iwanczyk and four students attended the Gonville and Caius College Women in Economics Day. The programme was extremely packed with many inspiring speakers including:
Dr Victoria Bateman (Director of Studies, Fellow and College Lecturer in Economics) who discussed Brexit and the Economic challenges we are facing today.
Carolyn Fairbairn who is the Director-General of the CBI (Confederation of British Industry) who discussed Brexit and the impact on the British Economy.
Jenna Young, a fashion entrepreneur who has developed her own fashion label, This Is The Uniform and whose work regularly features in Vogue. Jenna discussed the challenges and opportunities facing British fashion today. Jenna was also kind enough to write a message to all of our Creative Arts and entrepreneurial students wishing them well.
The day was incredibly thought provoking with our discussion continuing on the bus on the way back to Norfolk. It was a very successful day with no doubt regarding the impact of Economics and how it shapes the lives of all of us.
