Amy is an Employer Engagement Assistant at East Norfolk Sixth Form College and is enhanced by her study towards a Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship with Anglia Ruskin University.

Katie Lomonossoff is the Operations Manager for Moore Networking Ltd. Katie has a passion for supporting young people to achieve their goals. She has previously experienced both university and an apprenticeship in youth work, which has really put her where she is today. Katie is currently a member of the senior management of an ever-growing company which runs projects to help young people get into apprenticeships.

Careers & Coffee: Lee Allender & Liam Swan – Life as a Degree Apprentice

Liam studied a Level 3 Engineering BTEC Extended Diploma at Suffolk One College. He was put in contact with Superstructures by one of his lecturers and asked if they would consider taking on an apprentice. Liam now works alongside the senior engineers as well as taking on projects of his own as well as managing a distanced learning course for the Civil Engineering at Anglia Ruskin University. Lee attended Chantry Academy and then studied a BTEC level 3 extended diploma in Engineering at Suffolk One sixth form college. He is now a first-year apprentice structural engineer at Superstructures and completing his Bsc Civil engineering at Anglia Ruskin University Chelmsford.

Tune in and ask our guests about their experiences of apprenticeships and see if its the pathway for you. Guests will include; Ellie Longworth, Estates and Commercial Surveyor apprentice, Norfolk County Council; Lucy Gresham-Hill, Apprentice Site Manager, Morgan Sindall; Kathryn Towell, Rocket Aerospace Apprentice, Marshall ADG and Izaak Holland, Marine Engineer Apprentice, Broom Boats.

Careers & Coffee: Moving away for a Degree Apprenticeship

Joanna Crane, Undergraduate Engineer, Dyson Institute of Engineering and Technology Degree Apprenticeship, joined Dyson mid-pandemic in September 2020 after studying for A-Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science. Applied to read engineering at top Universities including Cambridge, Imperial and Warwick as well as a total of 10 engineering/technology degree apprenticeships based all over the country with international employers. Upon receipt of A-Level results rejected a place at Trinity College, University of Cambridge, removing her UCAS application to kickstart her dream career at 18. Currently studying towards an Engineering Degree with WMG (University of Warwick) and working on real life projects in a mechanical rotation within the motors team. Studied at UTCN for four years, moving their from Thorpe St. Andrew High School at 14 to pursue her passion for STEM.

Our guest is Robert Jones, who is an apprentice at Warren Services. Robert is 20 years old and is currently taking up an electrical engineering apprenticeship. His studying takes place at the West Suffolk College and is studying a HND. Robert enjoys playing rugby in his own time.

Careers & Coffee: Benefits of an Apprenticeship and Working in Housing

Jasmine King is a Housing Policy and Practice apprentice for the Flagship Group. She is the Lead for the Young Apprenticeships Ambassador Network (YAAN) in Norfolk. Jasmine started her apprenticeship in September 2019 after completing A Levels at Notre Dame Sixth Form. She is currently studying Level 4 in Housing, before progressing to Level 5 and 6 degree in Chartered Management. Flagship Group is a Housing Association across the East of England which provides homes for people in need.

Chey Bloomfield is an insurance consultant who trained via the apprenticeship route. She has recently completed her professional qualifications and will be sharing her experiences of taking the lesser known route into the world of insurance and why she loves the role.
