The Course
The course will equip you with design skills for the future. It will help you to recognise and interpret design needs and develop and understanding of how current global issues, including integrating technology, impact on today’s world. We will encourage and nurture your creativity and innovation and aim to give you the confidence to innovate and produce creative design solutions as you develop your own design brief with a client and/or end user. In Year 12 you will develop and enhance your design and practical skills and technical knowledge through small scale projects. In Year 13 you will complete the Design and Make Project.

It is expected that you are passionate about designing and have an aptitude for creativity and problem solving. You should also have a sound knowledge of materials and commercial manufacturing techniques. You will need enthusiasm, commitment, an open creative mind and a willingness to learn.

We will follow the Eduqas (part of WJEC) specification.
