We are delighted to have been able to run our regular trip to New York and Washington again following a Covid-enforced break. Mr Elphick and Mrs Almond took 21 students on Friday to the US and they have a packed itinerary seeing the sights until their return home, arriving in the UK on Thursday. Friday 17th: Depart College at 02:00, flight from Heathrow at 08:25, arrive in New York at 11.25am local time. Travel to hotel then walking tour of mid-town. Empire State Building and Observatory.
Saturday 18th: Guided film and TV sightseeing tour of New York by coach. Natural History Museum. Central Park walk. Voluntary ice skating in Central Park. Voluntary swim hour.
Sunday 19th: Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Ground Zero. Museum of the Moving Image in Queens. Shopping in Times Square. Voluntary swim hour.
Monday 20th: Coach transfer to Washington DC. 3 hour stop-over in Philadelphia to see the Liberty Bell and Rocky Steps. Smithsonian. Night walk to the Jefferson Memorial.
Tuesday 21st: Fords’ Theatre (where Lincoln was shot), second visit to Smithsonian. Guided walking tour.
Wednesday 22nd: Capital Building tour. White House Visitor Centre. Washington Zoo. Flight at 22:10.
Thursday 23rd: Arrive at Heathrow 10:15 local time. Return to College for 15:00.
