Gold DofE Training Expedition

In preparation for their Gold Expeditions next spring and summer, 10 hardy Year13s completed their training on the windswept uplands of North Norfolk Coast last weekend. Travelling 25 miles over two days along country lanes, byways and the Coastal Path allowed them to safely practice their campcraft and navigation skills ready for challenges of the Lake District next summer.

The Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award offers a life-changing opportunity which is valued by employers and universities alike. The Gold Award consists of five sections which will help to build skills in communication, resilience, commitment, problem-solving, leadership and teamwork:

  • volunteering
  • physical
  • skills
