PE BRIDGING WORK

Welcome to A-Level P.E. Below is some work you could complete if you intend to study A-Level Physical Education in September. It is designed to introduce some of the concepts that you will be looking at when you start the course.

1. You will need to buy the textbook(s) detailed below:

AQA PE for A-level 1: Year 1 and AS

2. Read the Year 1 and Year 2 course content documents, the Book 1 and Book 2 folder checklists and the Paper 1 and 2 splits document, along with the textbook, to begin to familiarise yourself with the topic areas being covered during the course.

3. Print the criteria for your specific sport from the specification and familiarise yourself with the requirements for the NEA practical element of the course.

4. Complete the Student Information Sheet.

5. Familiarise yourself with the subject specific terminology and the command words used within the course.

 

TASKS THAT ARE OPTIONAL, BUT PROVIDE AN INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

6. Complete these tasks. Use the internet to help with your findings as well as the course textbook.

7. Background Reading:

a. Choose between three and five documentaries of your interest from the What Can I Watch and Read? list and make notes related to the topic areas on the course.

b. Consider a magazine subscription to PE Review published by Hodder Education. (The College Library has a print subscription to PE Review.)
