The Library & Research Skills Programme
Universities are often finding that new undergraduates don’t have the basic research skills they need, for example, being able to use academic sources beyond your textbook; being able to effectively search the internet; being able to critically evaluate the suitability of a source. Being able to search and critically evaluate are also key skills that many employers look for. The Library & Research Skills Programme will help you develop these skills so that you can leave College ahead of the game and ready to apply them straight into your next level of studies or your work.
The Programme is separated into two parts. In order to receive a certificate of completion you must complete all the elements in the compulsory section. At the end of each guide you will receive a unique code and a link to an online form. Submit your name and the code in order to register your completion. The additional guides will be relevant to those students who need to do Harvard referencing in their work, or who are completing the EPQ. However, you are welcome to complete these even if they are not directly relevant in order to receive the Gold Standard certificate.
