This podcast from the Spanish newspaper El País is in English about Spanish news. It’s a good way to get into Spanish news before you start reading the newspaper in Spanish.

You may be familiar with https://www.senecalearning.com/. It is possible to access content aimed at native speakers of Spanish. Go to Courses/Add Courses and use the Change Region button to temporarily switch to Mexican content. Their courses on Mexican History are a great introduction.
Books from the Mexican Education Ministry Library are useful for distance learning. Once you’ve chosen a book, click on “Leer en formato pub” to read page by page.
